What Should You Wear?

When coming to an Alexander lesson, it is desirable to wear loose fitting clothing in which you feel free to move. Tight trousers and shirts with tight-fitting shoulders can inhibit some of the movements that we will do.

For women, shorts or slacks are preferred. Part of the lesson involves lying in a rest position on your back with your knees up. That is why we are suggesting slacks or shorts. Or wear a skirt that is long enough to stay below the knee when lying in this position.

Sometimes we will work on the floor using an exercise mat. So you can dress in a way that will allow you to be comfortable on the floor.

We do not provide facilities for changing clothes once you are at the studio.
